Reading this article leads me to believe that at least one person considers it to be worse to be labeled a sex offender that to be HIV positive. That is a compelling statement which needs the attention of elected officials, policy makers and judges.
Hooray for those folks in IA. Now that I’m thinking about it I’ve never heard of anything good because of the registry. All I ever hear are the fear mongers making wild statements; this includes the police, prosecutors, judges, lawmakers and victims groups. Will they ever produce proof of what they say? Will anyone ever step forward and say, with irrefutable proof they or their child was saved from a assault or any other crime because of the registry? I think not. I’m still waiting for this to happen, and I’m still waiting and wondering why no one has ever asked for proof.
